I desire to gently walk across someone's heart and step away having left a positive, life-changing impact with the writing and poetry God provides through me for His glory.

Have you ever known you needed to do something ...something you had never done before? If you've had a relationship with Jesus for even a short time, you know you've experienced this very thing. The Lord will ask us to do something that never crossed our minds. He will put this idea in our thoughts and it will become like a heartfelt reminder until we just step out in faith with Him and do it.
This is where I am right now. Never did I envision I would have a website. Never did I imagine I would create a website myself that would share my writings, poetry and offer an option to leave a prayer request for me to pray with strangers ...and friends alike. Well, here I am …obeying my Heavenly Father and doing all of the above.
Human beings have a commonality - no matter where we grew up, who we are or what dreams we have.
We are all human.
My family and I happen to have had the privilege of not only being human but actually living HUMAN …since it is our name! I always knew the Lord would have me do something creative and ministering with this amazing and beautiful name - for His glory. AND …what a fun name it has been to carry and grow up with. I will share more of the blast it has been as you experience this adventure with me.
I will learn as I go …I know He will teach me. Thank you for your prayers and patience with me as I toddle along as a newbie in this web arena. I am excited to share what the Lord is instructing me to in this internet excursion with each one of you.
A favorite Scripture of mine and very much referenced through my life is:
Proverbs 3:5, 6 -
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
So, here I am. I find myself reaching for it even now …as I step out in faith …once again.

Who Is Tammie Human Burgin?
Tammie Human Burgin is a writer –blessed to grow up in a Christian home –honored to be the granddaughter of a Pastor. She does not take for granted hearing the Name of Jesus before she even took her first breath.
SHE KNOWS –Luke 12:48 …to whom much is given much is required.
Her desire to extend the love, the knowledge, the Truth of Jesus is her mission –her ministry –for such a time as this.
The love and priority she has for her Savior, husband –Scott, sons –Tyler and Zachary and daughter-in-love –Katie, is the definition of who she is and what drives her.
She continues to minister in writing and in prayer what the Lord has done, who He is to her and how someone can know Jesus as their personal Savior.
It is her heart to share the love of God …to one …to all …FOR HIS GLORY!
Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Matthew, A Disciple of Jesus, was a “tax collector” as we previously discussed. With this profession, they were viewed by many with disdain and contempt.
Jesus was invited to Matthew’s home after calling him as one of His disciples.
Matthew 9:9-13 KJV
9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
This invitation was also recorded in the book of Luke with our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection referenced as Levi.
Luke 5:27-32 NIV
27 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him, 28 and Levi got up, left everything and followed him.
29 Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. 30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”
31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Matthew and Luke, inspired by the Holy Spirit, describe in their writings how the Pharisees complained that Jesus was eating at the house of the new disciple, Matthew once known as Levi. These Pharisees did not like that Jesus was interacting with people that did not have their approval. Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection wrote about this in Matthew 9:10-11:
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
Jesus had no problem addressing these pious, self-righteous, superior, religious leaders. Luke 5:31-32 states that He responds with an answer directly to them-
31"…It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Jesus made it clear what His intentions were to all who were listening. We see this in the books of Matthew and Luke. Our Savior was available to sit, eat, and visit with anyone.
Furthermore, His greatest motivation was to call all who were sick. Those who needed His love, His touch, His strength, His healing and His power. Above all, His plan was to call all who were sick in spirit and lead them from sin to salvation through Him. He came to share His message of forgiveness and redemption.
At this time of year, we celebrate the birth of our Lord.
Luke 2:10-11 KJV
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Jesus came to earth as a babe to grow in wisdom and stature
(Luke 2:52), share His Message
(Luke 4:14-30), die on the Cross (Matthew 26-27), and rise again (Luke 24), for each one of us and our sins. THIS …to give us the opportunity to repent of our sins, receive Jesus as our Savior, enjoy a life filled with His presence, peace and plans for us here and in eternity. Additionally, so we would tell others of Him and His saving grace …and the whole world would know.
Are you sick in health, mind, or spirit? Jesus is calling all who are sick. I encourage you to lean in to Jesus.

Jesus came to this earth purposed in calling all who are sick. He continues to call anyone who is in need of Him today. If this is you, I pray you turn your heart to Him. May you encounter His life-changing power. Let it be that you share your requests with Him. Our amazing Lord is available to you at the moment you trust Him with your life.
Friend, Jesus is calling all who are sick. No matter the circumstances you may have- He is ready to meet you. My prayer is that you make your petitions known to Him. He is near to the brokenhearted.

Dear Reader, I pray you receive the blessing of Jesus. I pray you tell someone of His saving power. Jesus is here and, oh, He loves you so!

A Disciple of Jesus
Matthew 9:9
Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for December is Matthew- A Disciple of Jesus.
Matthew was a publican or “tax collector” for a living before becoming a disciple of Jesus. Prior to knowing Jesus, our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection was known as Levi. This reference to Levi can be found in both Mark and Luke.
(Mark 2:14 and Luke 5:17)
Mark 2:14 KJV
And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
Matthew records the same description of Jesus calling him to follow Him.
Matthew 9:9 KJV
And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
This lets us know Mark was referencing Matthew as Levi. Once Levi (Matthew) encountered Jesus, his name was changed to Matthew.
We all have a past. Some want to leave the past behind. Others cannot let go. Occasionally, humans are forced to relive their long ago’s. This can be due to people that want to keep reminding them of choices made.
Memories and treasured experiences are wonderful to reflect on with special people in your life. Traditions and nostalgia are good for your soul and for your family.
However, those things that others use to haunt you; the decisions the enemy tries to discourage you with; even the behaviors your own self cannot let you forgive- are exactly what Jesus commands us to forget through Paul’s writings.
Philippians 3:13-14 NIV
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Forget! Forget wrong relationships. Forget disappointed experiences. Forget failed expectations. Forget …what was! Jesus has so much more than you can imagine in the now and what is to come.

Dear Reader, I pray you lean into the Lord and allow Him to meet you, do a work in you, and help you move forward from the what was seasons of your life, change your name and make all things new. Jesus came to this earth as a babe to call those who are sick so they will know Him and be healed. Almighty God has so much for you today as you accept Him and His call to follow Him.
Friend, go with the Lord in this moment and enjoy His presence, blessings, forgiveness, freedom, and ways for you in this time of your life. My prayer is that you live refreshed in your daily relationship with the Lord.
