OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF TAMMIE HUMAN BURGIN
Author and Writer

Have you ever known you needed to do something ...something you had never done before? If you've had a relationship with Jesus for even a short time, you know you've experienced this very thing. The Lord will ask us to do something that never crossed our minds. He will put this idea in our thoughts and it will become like a heartfelt reminder until we just step out in faith with Him and do it.
This is where I am right now. Never did I envision I would have a website. Never did I imagine I would create a website myself that would share my writings, poetry and offer an option to leave a prayer request for me to pray with strangers ...and friends alike. Well, here I am …obeying my Heavenly Father and doing all of the above.
Human beings have a commonality - no matter where we grew up, who we are or what dreams we have.
We are all human.
My family and I happen to have had the privilege of not only being human but actually living HUMAN …since it is our name! I always knew the Lord would have me do something creative and ministering with this amazing and beautiful name - for His glory. AND …what a fun name it has been to carry and grow up with. I will share more of the blast it has been as you experience this adventure with me.
I will learn as I go …I know He will teach me. Thank you for your prayers and patience with me as I toddle along as a newbie in this web arena. I am excited to share what the Lord is instructing me to in this internet excursion with each one of you.
A favorite Scripture of mine and very much referenced through my life is:
Proverbs 3:5, 6 -
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
So, here I am. I find myself reaching for it even now …as I step out in faith …once again.
Welcome, my human friends! I look forward to this journey as it offers a place to be a unique part of the human family.
Let's gather together in this place of commonality ...as we all are ...living human./.
I will meet you here - at
I Peter 4:11
If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Jonah did not like the circumstances in Nineveh. He had an opinion and chose to be angry that the people of Nineveh repented. With their repentance, God kept His promise to forgive them and did not destroy them. (Reference 3:3-10)
When Jonah was angry about these happenings, God had a conversation with him. He was gentle. He was patient. He was merciful. God provided a covering for Jonah - a great plant from nothing to something - that covered him. After such a tumultuous experience for Jonah, God gave him shelter. Then, in order to get Jonah’s attention - God removed it.
The Lord wanted Jonah to understand he did not care for the plant in which came up and died both overnight. If Jonah was concerned for this, how much more would God have concern for the people of Nineveh, whom He created? (Reference Jonah 4:9-10)

Jonah was personally shown how great God’s compassion is to us. The slow to anger tone in the dialogue from God toward Jonah, A Minor Prophet - our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for March - causes me to pause. How often do we receive God’s compassion? How many times do we not even realize what our conduct looks like to God? How great is God’s love for us, dear Reader? I pray you also wait before the Lord and get understanding of His merciful ways.
Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV
22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
My prayer is that you, too, know a lesson in God’s compassion this day. Oh, dear friend, for Jesus loves you so!

Scripture of the Day
36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Matthew 26:36-39 KJV

Jonah

A Minor Prophet
Jonah
Our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Jonah, A Minor Prophet- wrote the book in God’s Word with his namesake, inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Jonah has a different story than many of the other Prophets in the Bible. Yet, God has a mercy and compassion for this human that I believe we can all appreciate.
God instructed him to go to a place called Nineveh.
Jonah 1:1-2 NIV
The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai:
2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”
Jonah turned away from the presence of God and ran a different direction. He chose to go to Tarshish rather than Nineveh. The reasons Jonah chose Tarshish are many. It was closer than Nineveh, he www prideful and rebellious, but the main reason could be surprising. Jonah, A Minor Prophet, didn’t just disagree with those in Nineveh- he did not like them. They were pagans who did not serve God- ignorant of Him and His ways. This is why God sent Jonah to them. He wanted Jonah to alert them of His wrath.
God will have His way be done. Thus, as Jonah had boarded a ship for Tarshish- God allowed a great storm to arise. This storm raged until the men became so afraid they began throwing cargo overboard. When Jonah was discovered in the belly of the boat asleep, the sailors asked how he could sleep through the storm. They cast lots to see who was responsible for this calamity and it fell to Jonah. In Jonah 1:12, he told them to throw him overboard.
Jonah 1:12-15 NIV
12 “Pick me up and throw me into the sea,” he replied, “and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.”
13 Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before.
14 Then they cried out to the Lord, “Please, Lord, do not let us die for taking this man’s life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, Lord, have done as you pleased.”
15 Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm.
After being thrown over, the Lord sent a great fish to swallow Jonah where he spent three days. Jonah repented. In
Jonah 2:10, God commanded the great fish to spit out Jonah on dry land. God instructed Jonah again to go to Nineveh and proclaim His message and he obeyed.
Once there, Jonah declared the warning of God and it arrived before the King. The King put on sackcloth and ashes. Then he sent out a decree for all, including animals, to do the same. This so God would reconsider of this massive order against Nineveh.
Jonah, in his disgust toward the people of Nineveh, went atop a mountain. He just knew God would keep His promise to judge them because in his opinion they would not be able to do what God asked of them. He had disdain and great disrespect toward these humans. To Jonah’s dismay- they did all God asked.
God provided a plant to cover Jonah and protect him. The next morning He allowed it to wither away. Jonah was concerned with this plant and angry that the Lord had relented not to destroy Nineveh.
Jonah was taught a lesson from our amazing God. He had compassion for all humans involved- yes, including our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection, Jonah- A Minor Prophet. Despite Jonah’s behavior, He took time to have this conversation with him-
Jonah 4:9-11 NIV
9 But God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”
“It is,” he said. “And I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”
10 But the Lord said, “You have been concerned about this plant, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight.
11 And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?”
The great mercy and compassion of our amazing God is not only extended to our HUMAN of the Bible Reflection for March- but also to us.
Friend- should you want to know Jesus as your personal Savior, you need only pray and repent. Ask the Lord to forgive you and invite Him to be your Savior and Lord. Please see my Invitation and Prayer page for more details.

Let us consider all the decisions of this month’s HUMAN of the Bible Reflection- Jonah, A Minor Prophet. None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. Some of our hearts have anger, frustration, or even pride. It is a temptation to have those feelings and thoughts toward other humans. BUT GOD …He has so much more for all of us. I encourage you to read the book of Jonah. It is a small book, but mighty in lessons. Even more- the character of our God and His heart to the humans He created is revealed in a remarkable way.
