Evil For Good

Genesis 5:20 NIV

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

We clearly are living in times of evil influence on many humans.  Thoughts, beliefs, reasonable dialogue that is dismissed, refusal to engage in discussion are going in a direction with greater negative consequences.  

When the enemy of our souls attacks. When the enemy’s goal is to kill, steal, and destroy.  When the enemy appears to have succeeded.  REMEMBER THIS!  What the devil meant for harm - our GREAT, ALMIGHTY GOD will turn it for good!  

Praise His holy name.

Genesis 5:20 is the story of Joseph, the son of Jacob, whose story includes being sold into slavery by his own brothers.  Years later, Joseph was elevated to second in command of Egypt. Genesis 5:20 shows Joseph stated to his brothers, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."  I want you to look at the last few words of this verse …Joseph also said God was using the evil that was done for the saving of lives!

Who knows but that the recent events we have witnessed, saturated in evil, we will see our amazing God save lives!  Let me encourage you as we are encouraged ourselves by

Romans 8:28 -

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been calledaccording to his purpose.

The happenings in your own life that are obviously evil and brought upon you by the enemy, God is able to use for good.  Friend, even through the difficult times - what others mean for evil - God is able to turn it …for the saving of lives!  

When you are discouraged, downhearted, disappointed - may it be that you humble yourself before our amazing God.  Let Him lift you up and guide you through the darkness.  For you just might be the vehicle, the instrument, the witness God uses to save lives!

Oh, what a beautiful thing when tragedies are changed by the hand of God to testimonies of Jesus Christ.  May it be that the actions we have seen over the last few months, especially in the recent week, that are beyond our comprehension, and any difficulties you know right now, dear Reader, are touched by Almighty God.  May He use the good, bad, dark, and light to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.  May Jesus be glorified!
