Pace | PEACE

Philippians 4:9 NIV

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

It was many years ago when I was trying to figure out why certain dreams hadn’t come to fruition for my husband and me.  Oh, the blessing of us and our amazing sons- our family- was beyond my comprehension. I was, I am, completely filled with gratitude to my God.  It was at that time, some of the dreams my wonderful husband and I had during our dating years seemed nowhere to be found. 

After taking my precious boys to school one morning, I had a quiet time of devotion and prayer.  During that sweet time with the Lord, He showed me something that stayed with me when plans seemed to be stuck.  As He spoke to me, He gave me this picture: 

What He said to my heart gave me an unshakable root for what would occasionally reappear.  The Lord revealed to me that as I go at His PACE with Him- I would know His PEACE!

At different times in my life, this has been brought back to me by the Lord.  In several life events, I have observed each one in my family experience what some would deem a delay.   Yet as I stopped, stilled, and sought God- He revealed to me how each one of them demonstrated this very choice in their particular circumstances.  

Recently, my questions in prayer provided my awesome God the opportunity to illuminate this lesson once again for me.  He showed me that what I was lacking in understanding- He was supplying.  What I was wrestling with- He was untangling.  What I couldn’t see- He was opening the eyes of my heart and giving me clarity.  With this enlightenment, I witnessed that the decisions being made around me were filled with the desire to be led by Him.  I saw …His pace, and then I clearly recognized His peace.

I greatly admire this.  I am incredibly thankful to my family for also teaching me so much while on their pathway with God.  Their determination to depend on God has allowed me to learn lessons that I am able to apply in my own walk with the Lord.

To have the Lord communicate such heartfelt tools for traveling along His pathway is beyond astounding to me.  Through the highs and lows, ups and downs, victories and challenges, achievements and disappointments- our incredible God will continue to guide us as we seek Him and listen to His voice.  Wisdom and insight will accompany His peace …as we simply and humbly surrender to His pace.  

Oh, dear Reader, my prayer is that you are blessed by this testimony.  I pray you trust God with your inquiring heart, perplexing thoughts, or obscured vision.  May you hear His words for the ways and directions He has for you is my prayer!
