What Do You Want To Do With Your Life?

Ephesians 2:10 NIV

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

What do you want to do with your life?  This is a question that is asked of us many times when we are growing up.  Then, we find ourselves asking it of our own children.  

What do you want to do with your life?

Dear Reader, this question is not about your dreams or even the goals you hope to achieve.  This is an inquiry into what you want to spend your life doing and how you want to expend your energy. 

Nobody plans to use their day motivated in anger.  The majority of humans do not desire to irritate, antagonize, or interrupt others and their lives.  Most people are not interested in taking the talents they have and using them to harm vulnerable individuals.   Yet- we witness, observe, or become victims of each one of these at some point.  

What do you want to do with your life?

Events, behaviors, and even our own thoughts can cause the enemy of our soul to grow increasingly influential to us.  Without being aware, we are consumed with an ideology that never existed in our minds before.  Depending on our circle of friends- this could develop a root of what sways our beliefs, as well.  The heightened and intensified tension that slowly arises within is not easily recognized.  Thus, changes in attitudes, judgment, and actions potentially result in declining behavior.  Unless …you know what you want to do with your life.   

What do you want to do with your life?

Consider that your hope is to make a positive difference with your choices.  Who is it that you want to impact?   When you imagine the faces, hear the names, or remember the memories- it causes a suspension of time.  In this moment, there is an opportunity to reflect on your current position.  Those that matter most in your orbit- what is the level of gravity you want to achieve with your example?

What do you want to do with your life?  

I close with this query.  Let us be still before God and ask for His forgiveness and instruction.  If you don’t have a relationship with God- I am here to share how you can. I encourage you- dear Reader, as we begin a new year, stay alert to your surroundings.  Be on guard to your thought process.  Recognize the direction you are heading.  Seeking the Lord provides the foundation for all of these things.  I assure you, if you will invite the Lord into your life- He will show you the way!
