Human Living Ministry WELCOME!

Human Living Ministry ... originated from

"Living Human" all of my life!  Additionally, it was birthed through years of writing, but more importantly - years of prayer.

I desire to gently walk across someone's heart and step away having left a positive, life-changing impact with the writing and poetry God provides through me for His glory.

  • May the hurting know His love

  • May the lonely know His presence

  • May the lost know His salvation and friendship

  • May the damaged know His reconstruction

  • May the fallen know His recovery

  • May the rejected know they are welcomed by Him

  • May all receive His forgiveness with repentance and recognize they are a part of ...

       The Family of God

For the someone who is interested in knowing Jesus - I am here to share how you can.

For the someone who needs prayer - this is a place to leave a prayer request and I will pray.

For the someone who needs an encouraging read - you will find it here.

My writings are all for the glory of Jesus Christ - my Savior and Lord.

Have you ever known you needed to do something ...something you had never done before? If you've had a relationship with Jesus for even a short time, you know you've experienced this very thing. The Lord will ask us to do something that never crossed our minds. He will put this idea in our thoughts and it will become like a heartfelt reminder until we just step out in faith with Him and do it.

This is where I am right now.  Never did I envision I would have a website. Never did I imagine I would create a website myself that would share my writings, poetry and offer an option to leave a prayer request for me to pray with strangers ...and friends alike.  Well, here I am …obeying my Heavenly Father and doing all of the above.

Human beings have a commonality - no matter where we grew up, who we are or what dreams we have.

We are all human.

My family and I happen to have had the privilege of not only being human but actually living HUMAN …since it is our name!  I always knew the Lord would have me do something creative and ministering with this amazing and beautiful name - for His glory.  AND …what a fun name it has been to carry and grow up with. I will share more of the blast it has been as you experience this adventure with me.

I will learn as I go …I know He will teach me.  Thank you for your prayers and patience with me as I toddle along as a newbie in this web arena.  I am excited to share what the Lord is instructing me to in this internet excursion with each one of you.

A favorite Scripture of mine and very much referenced through my life is:

Proverbs 3:5, 6 -

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.

So, here I am.  I find myself reaching for it even now …as I step out in faith …once again.

Welcome, my human friends!  I look forward to this journey as it offers a place to be a unique part of the human family.

Let's gather together in this place of commonality ...as we all are ...living human./.

I will meet you here - at

John’s writings also include the I, II and III epistles which also have his name. Additionally, he is known as “John, The Revelator” for penning the book that completed the Bible - the Book of Revelation.  The insight he received after being sent to the Isle of Patmos as a prisoner for preaching about Jesus is life-changing.   Each of us should prayerfully study this last Book of the Bible and allow the Holy Spirit to give us the clarity we need to know Jesus more.  The words that close this amazing writing include instructions not to take away (Revelation 22:19) so that God does not take away from one's book of life.  We need to greatly consider and obey this Word.

John - a vivacious, passionate, ambitious disciple of Jesus - chosen to be used to share the Gospel of our Lord because Jesus saw him for who he was and who he could be …in HIM.  How can the Lord take who He sees in each of us and use us for His glory?  He knows who we can be in HIM!  What an opportunity to know Jesus more and live for Him - no matter where we are in our lives today.

One of the most imporant Scriptures in the Bible is found in the Book of John.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God so loved us that He sent His only Son to die for our sins on an old rugged Cross. Jesus did so willingly and rose again after three days - just as He said He would.

Matthew 28:6

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.

Jesus conquered death and hell at the Cross.  As we repent of our sins and invite Him to be our Savior, He will be Lord of our lives.  Jesus is here - waiting for our call so that we can know Him now and live with Him for eternity.

During the month of May, the HUMAN of the Bible Reflection - JOHN - has been our study.  We have focused on Who Are You?  Do you know who you are …Jesus does!  Where are you?  Can you say you can be found at the foot of the Cross?  Are you sent from God, too, and is your name in The Book?

This week - What revelation are you looking to know?

John knew the Lord in ways that are indescribable.  He also sought the Lord in ways that are amazing.  With this relationship, John was provided revelation that he went on to write and communicate by the leading of the Holy Spirit.  We are benefiting today of this revelation - in the writings the share his name as well as the final book of the Bible - REVELATION.

Friend, I ask you - What revelation are you looking to know?

We, too, can know the Lord and seek Him as John.  May it be that we do our part to seek the Lord and wait for His revelation to us.  I find that as He does, writing down His words, instructions, revelations to me - is a great way to reflect on His promises and provisions in my life.  Even when He takes my path a way that I didn’t expect - there is still encouragement in knowing He has been with me.  His revelation reminds me that He will always be with me - I only need to be still, trust Him and listen for His ways.  The Lord will give me His revelation as I welcome Him in all aspects of my life.  This makes me incredibly grateful!

John …a fisherman, a son, a brother, a disciple …what did Jesus see that He called him into His inner circle and called him to care for His own mother?  Jesus.sees each of us and knows more about us than we can comprehend.  He wants us - like John - to see Him in ways others did not and share His Story with our world …just as John …the revelator …the friend.

May we choose to seek Jesus more and ask Him to show us what He sees.  It is not about the picture we imagine - but the masterpiece He creates!  Once we surrender to this and receive His call in the details of our lives just as John did - His Gosepl will be told and He will be glorified.  This is the goal we all should have …for our world to see Jesus in us and He be glorified in what He sees in us, friend.

If you would like to know Jesus as your personal Savior and Friend, please see my Invitation and Prayer page.  You can also contact me at thumanburgin@gmail.com with questions, comments or to share with me that you received Jesus as your Savior. If you have a prayer request, you are welcome to visit my Prayer Requests page. There you can complete and submit a prayer request form.  I will pray with you and it will stay between the Lord, you, and me - I assure you.

I am not writing this for people to know me or to get a bunch of followers. I write this to share that those in the Bible were just like you and me - HUMAN.  Some had the most amazing privilege and opportunity to walk and live with Jesus. The Holy Spirit inspired many in their writings of these outstanding experiences so we could know Him, too.

Friend, Jesus is just as much here for you and me - with you and me - if we will only reach out to Him, seek Him, walk and talk with Him and read His Word every day.  We can know Him just as intimately as the HUMANs of the Bible we reflect on each month.

Jesus sees you. I pray you allow Him to show you the potential that you have to testify of His love to those you love on, live with and let in your day.  He wants to call you disciple …friend …and give you revelation just as He did - John.

He is here to meet you and I will be here at HUMAN Living Ministry!  Thank you for stopping by …I’m so glad you did.  You’re welcome to stop by, anytime.

Dear Reader, Jesus loves you so!

John

Bible open.jpg

May’s HUMAN of the Bible Reflection is John.

The Book of John does not provide the author specifically as the Disciple, John. However, throughout my research I discovered enough substantiation to know that he is the humbled writer of this great Book.  Such a wealth of knowledge is shared from the man known as a fisherman, a son of Zebedee and the brother of James.  John also referred to himself as, “the disciple whom Jesus loved.”

(References John 13:23; 19:26; 21:20)

John and his brother, James, were preparing their nets when Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee and saw Simon Peter and his brother, Andrew.

Matthew 4:18-22

18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.

19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

20 At once they left their nets and followed him.

21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

After calling them to follow Him, he went from there and saw James and John  and called them.  They immediately left their boat and their father to follow Him.

John was part of the inner circle with Jesus and His close friends.  Jesus often asked Peter, James and John to go with Him.   He did so when He invited them to go deeper into the Garden of Gethsemane.  Jesus asked them to go with Him to pray the night He was arrested prior to dying on The Cross and rising again - just as He said.

Due to the nature and characteristics of John and his brother, James, Jesus referred to them as the “Sons of Thunder.”  It is one of those human moments with Jesus where we see He gives a nickname to His buddies. When I think about this, it makes me smile.  What an experience to have lived at that time and been that close of a friend with the Savior of the world.

The respect and awe that John displays for his dear friend, Jesus, cannot be underestimated as we read Chapter One.  John opens the book that bears his name with a glorious declaration -

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,and the Word was God.

The entire first chapter of John discusses the deity of Jesus.  John introduces God in His very presence, as well as, the human in flesh that Jesus was among them.  He saw the miracles performed and yet enjoyed the reality of friendship.  Additionally, he introduces another …in verse six, we see:

John 1:6

There was a man sent from God whose name was John.

The author presents the cousin of Jesus, John the Baptist, to the reading audience.  In doing so, he shares that he came as a witness to testify “concerning that light” so others might believe.  John tells a piece of the story of John the Baptist - for he is the one who “prepared the way of the Lord.”

(Isaiah 40:3)

John had a zeal and passion in his youth that grew into a healthy, measured and discerning understanding of who Jesus is. He also gleaned the humility that was needed for those who hoped to be great in life and in eternity.  This was evident in Matthew 20:20-24 of he and his brother. Once through their mother she requested of Jesus that her sons sit on either side of Him in His Kingdom.

With maturity and wisdom John had a revelation like no other.  John shared the moment in Chapter Thirteen, verses Four through Sixteen where Jesus washed the feet of the disciples and demonstrated absolute servanthood. What a beautiful insight and lesson for each of us today. One other place John was found was at the foot of the Cross while many had dispersed to other areas.  Jesus saw John comforting His mother, Mary.  In John 19:25-27 it is documented -

John 19:27

"Woman, behold your son!”

From here, John cared for Mary as though she were his own mother.  There clearly was something so trustworthy between Jesus and John.  Jesus had such confidence that His mother would be safe with His dear friend, John.  How amazing to be the recipient of the Lord’s trust.

Do you have a “John” in your life, dear Reader?  I am so grateful to know …I do!
