Matthew 21:9 KJV
And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
I love Palm Sunday!
Palm Sunday is when we celebrate the day Jesus went through the gate riding on a donkey. As He did, the crowd laid their cloaks on the ground. The humans of that day cut palm branches to waive in the air as they greeted the Savior when He passed by.
John 12:12-13 NIV
12 The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.
13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,
“Hosanna![d]”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”[e]
“Blessed is the king of Israel!”
As He did, the people cried, “Hosanna Lord!” In my research, I learned Hosanna is actually an outcry. The Hebrew root word is found here:
Psalm 118:25 KJV
Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
I discovered that the Hebrew word for save or deliver is yasha and the Hebrew word that means beg or beseech is anna. This gives us the English word, HOSANNA. Though it sometimes is viewed as a hallelujah, Hosanna actually means a plea or cry to be saved. We cry HOSANNA Lord!
Friend, do you have a need today - a need for the Savior? He is passing by at this moment. Lay everything down just as the crowd did in that day. When you lift your hands and say, “I CRY HOSANNA, LORD,” you are crying out to Him, “Save me - I beseech you!”
Oh, friend- as you do- Jesus will reach out to you and meet you right where you are. If you do not know Him as your Savior and would like to know more, please visit my INFORMATION AND PRAYER page. Palm Sunday. The day Jesus was praised. The moment Jesus was recognized as The Deliverer. The time Jesus was sought to save. Oh, the few minutes Jesus was acknowledged as King of Israel …before, before it all changed.
Come back next week for the rest of the story. Until then, I encourage to ponder this …Jesus loves you so!

Great insight into the start of Holy Week.
