Exodus 33:22 NIV
When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.

We all heard the amazing testimony of the rescued pilot who was missing in Iran from Good Friday until Easter Sunday.
As I listened to the details of the incredible climb the airman made of 7,000 feet to get to safety, I was more in awe than I even imagined I would be. It began on Good Friday. One Pilot was rescued on that day. The second waited hours until Easter Sunday before the miraculous find of him.
The information that captured me after the incredible rescue is buried in the introductory Scripture. I began the Special Encouraging Post with this passage because of a word that was shared as part of this airman’s journey. I heard it said in a news report that this rescued Pilot found a cave - a crevice - for safety.
Here is the definition of crevice-
*crevice
/krĕv′ĭs/
noun
A narrow crack or opening; a fissure or cleft.
A narrow opening resulting from a split or crack or the separation of a junction; a cleft; a fissure; a rent. Similar: cleftfissurerent
Do you see what I see? It is another word for “cleft,” friend. On Good Friday, this Airman went missing. He climbed 7,000 feet to a cave - a crevice - to be hidden until such time to be found by our special operations forces. God told Moses He would put him in the cleft of the rock and cover him with His hand. It is clear to me that the Lord did the same for this missing airman. Yes, the rescue is an astounding accomplishment. I am so grateful for our President, leadership, and military, along with their wisdom, skill, and courage. Additionally, to me, there is a supernatural testimony in the midst of it all. The 7,000-foot climb to the crevice is significant because seven is the number of God. Second, the hand of God covered this missing Pilot in the crevice - the cleft - as He did Moses. Third, this airman was protected in the crevice of a cave - but above all - he was in the cleft of THE ROCK, which is Almighty God.
The message this great human sent once he could communicate- “God Is Good,” says it all, dear Reader! When we feel missing. When we have to make the climb. When we find the crevice for safety. We can proclaim that GOD IS GOOD. Further, we can know we are covered by the hand of God in the cleft of THE ROCK! Even more- our amazing God will keep us safe, then He will show us His glory!
Praise the Lord for this beautiful miracle and all involved in the rescue of one of our own. Praise the Lord for the timing and the message of how good God is- all the time. Praise the Lord for the cave- the crevice- the cleft of the Rock- for all of us, wherever we are, whatever our need!
My friend- praise the Lord- for He loves you so!
